Sustainability - it’s in our DNA, and in the water 

The Cradle to Cradle Product Innovation Institute awards the certification, after close scrutiny, to product solutions that contribute to the formation of a Circular Economy, always with the utmost consideration for the planet and compliance with environmental standards. In addition, it means that they do not contain substances hazardous to humans or the environment, Cradle to Cradle emission standards are met, and 65% of the components are recyclable. It also meets Gold requirements for renewable energy use, CO2 emissions, water management and social responsibility.

Reusable water bottles are all the rage – and for good reason. They reduce the harmful impact to the planet of all the single-use, disposable bottles that end up in the ocean and elsewhere in the environment. And they can be customized, reflecting your personal tastes.

Driven by the desire to make a difference, Merijn Everaarts, founder of The Netherlands-based Dopper BV, launched a design competition to create the ideal sustainable water bottle. The result, a dozen years ago, was the Dopper Original. The team has continued to refine and advance the basic concept and chose to work with KRAIBURG TPE to develop the Dopper Sport Cap, which is perfectly suited for use with water sports and other outdoor sports. 

This collaboration led to the choice of a grade of KRAIBURG TPE’s Thermolast® K thermoplastic elastomer –– specifically TF6OQD-LCNT –– for use in the colored Sport Cap, combined with a retractable, white, polypropylene drinking spout.

“All the materials are Cradle-to-Cradle certified, and free of bisphenol A (BPA) or any other toxins” notes Philippe Muylkens, KRAIBURG TPE’s technical sales manager – BeNeLux/UK. “The cap’s collar has a soft, velvety feel while being abrasion resistant and smooth to touch with low surface friction.” And its distinctive Atlantic Blue or Arctic Grey color stands out in the crowd.
