Halogenated compounds frequently used in the past could lead to highly toxic smoke gases. Furthermore, products and materials with a high halogen concentration must be disposed of as hazardous waste.
This is why KRAIBURG TPE offers solely halogen-free, flame retardant TPEs which fulfil highest fire protection standards such as UL94VB and GWFI according to IEC 60695-2-12. Those materials have all-color listings according to UL94V0 and are, moreover, certified according to EN45545 R22/R23 HL3. Therefore, they meet the highest requirements with respect to smoke density, toxicity and limited oxygen index to be used in train applications.
