Can the specially developed thermally conductive TPEs be colored?

Yes, our thermally conductive TPEs can generally be colored. However, we evaluate desired color shades on a case-by-case basis to ensure that the compound’s functional properties are maintained.

What is the flammability rating of the materials?

Our thermally conductive TPEs can be rated for flame resistance according to UL 94. Official tests have shown that UL 94 HB listing is possible if required.

Processing Advantages of TPE Compared to Silicone

Compared to silicone, thermally conductive TPEs offer particular advantages due to their thermoplastic processability. They do not require an additional cross-linking step, thereby enabling efficient manufacturing processes. Another advantage is two-component (2K) processing: depending on the material type, direct adhesion to materials such as PP or PA is possible. Furthermore, due to their thermoplastic nature, suitable production scraps can generally be remelted and reprocessed.

Are the materials extrudable?

Yes, our thermally conductive TPEs are generally suitable for extrusion. Both profiles and films have been successfully produced in our tests.

What is the temperature resistance of the materials?

The temperature resistance of our thermally conductive TPEs depends on the specific compound and the actual operating conditions. Based on our tests, we have generally found that they can withstand temperatures up to 120 °C when the component is not under pressure. However, for the design of a specific application, we recommend individual testing of the relevant material.
