Regarding LOOP TPE, so the materials your customers are sending back to you,  is it a business case for the customer and are there any further advantages, like cost reductions?

LOOP TPE means that we take back e.g. sprues from customers, grind it and compound it into an accordingly recycled TPE material. Thus, there is no virgin raw material input and accordingly no cost for the raw materials (provided that scrap from customer is sent to us free of charge; only shipping expenses). This leads to a cost saving for our customer, compared to the virgin product. Moreover, using valuable material that is otherwise sent to scrap means as well reducing waste and – considering the rising demand for recycled raw materials – ensuring resources.

Are you preparing for Digital Product Passport (DPP) requirements and are you ready to provide relevant data to customers?

We´ve already partnered with academic institutes in projects about the DPP and have started an internal project to go forward and be ready for the DDP in our industry. Data our customers need for their DDP are available.

How do you make sure the recycled raw materials really do originate from waste and recycling facilities?

We have strict supplier standards and regular audits. Moreover, we have external recycling content verification for a choice of our TPE materials, reassuring the use of recycled raw materials.

Loop TPEs also have a lower product carbon footprint than established alternatives that are not based on renewable raw materials.

Do you have sustainable solutions for sensitive applications, such as medical or with direct food contact?

In the medical and direct food contact market, we suggest ISCC PLUS mass balanced TPE materials. This enables our customers to maintain material properties and regulatory status and still contributing to the increase in sustainable raw material demand.
