Plugs, sealing profiles and insulation: Each of the three possible application scenarios places the highest demands on resistance to fire. To reduce flammability, various additives can be used. However, the halogenated flame retardants frequently used in the past could led to highly toxic smoke gases. Furthermore, products and materials with a high halogen concentration must be disposed of as hazardous waste.
